In the Sauerland region, the state of our forests cannot be overlooked. Three years of drought and the bark beetle have taken a heavy toll on our local forests – many trees have died or had to be cleared on a large scale. Where once proud firs and spruces covered the slopes of Arnsberg, there is often hardly a tree to be seen today. The change in our landscape is clearly noticeable.
TRIO is now a local partner of WaldLokal and would like to support the project in the reforestation of our local forests.
WaldLokal aims to counteract the consequences of local deforestation and protect and restore our natural habitats by planting climate-stable mixed forests. Since 2021, thanks to the WaldLokalians and numerous private helpers, many forest localities have been regenerated and biodiversity promoted. Community planting campaigns are taking place in more than 30 forest localities throughout South Westphalia to sensitise people to nature and raise their awareness of the issues of sustainability and climate protection.
This partnership is an important step for TRIO to actively do good in our home region, have a positive impact on the environment and society and support our journey towards climate neutrality. We are proud to be part of this important project and look forward to working with WaldLokal to help preserve our local forests.
“We are there when it comes to putting down new roots in our forests for a sustainable future.”
